Confirmation is a time when young adults (usually eighth-ninth grade) examine the Christian life they have been baptized into, and then confirm the vows that were made on their behalf. It is an interactive class with Pastor Stu and the chosen mentor of the young adult. The journey will walk the youth through basic faith issues from understand Christ, the Holy Spirit, prayer, the bible and many more. This is the youths chance to develop their own beliefs about their faith and begin a deeper relationship with God.
This school year, FCC held Confirmation classes for our young church teens. The course was be led by our Pastor and a team of leaders from our Spiritual Formations and Children’s Ministry teams. Teens who were entering 7th grade and up are welcome to attend the Confirmation class. The Confirmation class began in the Fall and ran through May of 2017. The course met regularly and involved a Sunday morning and Sunday evening meeting, approximately 20 sessions in all. Each teen was required to have a church mentor (non-family member) of their choice who met separately with them through the year for various activities. Students were also asked to put in service hours to complete their Confirmation. This year’s Confirmation class involved the whole church working together to inspire our young people about the truth of the Gospel and way to salvation in Christ.
