Making Room for Spiritual Life

When it comes right down to it, the church exists as the recognizable community of Christ.  In a nut shell that means that the people we find in the church are people who desire to make a priority, at some level, to having a practical and relevant spiritual life - one that is founded on a relationship with God through his Son, Jesus Christ.

Through the teachings of Jesus Christ and the stories of his life and the beginning of the church found in the Bible, we learn the ways of Faith.  We discover life lived by the spirit of God.

Michael Wilkins writes that “becoming Like Jesus is the overarching goal of the entire Christian life” and he points to the Apostle Paul who affirmed this in Romans 8:29 when he also suggested that the ultimate goal for God’s people is to be “conformed to the image of his Son.”

That being said, the function of the church is to be the fellowship of those committed to this spiritual life and the catalyst for everyone’s continued maturity in faith.

At Faith Community Church we want to be sure to make this endeavor to become a spiritual person in the image of Christ a high priority.

In this section of our website we hope to point you to spiritual growth events, prayer opportunities, and particular rituals of the spiritual life that occur in the life of our church.
