Missions
Faith Community Church is actively involved in mission work during the year. Our Church contributes to the NACCC's missions throughout the world. Right here in our own community, we participate in Relay for Life, an all-night walk against cancer. In addition, we collect food for Franklin's food pantry. Our members and friends regularly help at The Gathering, serving lunch to Milwaukee's less fortunate. Prior to going, our Church collects gallons of milk and homemade cookies to take along. Milwaukee's hungry people are thrilled because powdered milk is the usual beverage and dessert just isn't on the menu.
Faith Community Church opens its generous heart; remembering to thank God for all we've been given.
Here are just a few of our upcoming Mission Projects:
Love Worth Sharing - Haiti
Soon, we'll be collecting special Christmas gifts for the children of Haiti. Unlike what our own children put on their Christmas lists, Haiti's children are asking for UNDERWEAR and TOOTHBRUSHES. Their requests put Christmas in perspective.
Book Donations - Milwaukee
Later, our Church will donate new or gently used books to a 4K classroom. The class is on Milwaukee's southside, where many families are struggling to make ends meet. Teachers have always spent their own money on classroom supplies and now with budget cuts, that is especially true. Our book donations will be hand-delivered to the classroom. I'm sure the children will be surprised and happy, as will their teacher.
Faith Community Church is so thankful because not only do its members and friends participate in our Mission Projects, but its Faith Academy Child Development Center families participate too. Our Church is so grateful.
We invite you to be part of our Church and part of those trying to make life just a little bit better for someone else. Join us, not only in Church on Sunday, but in projects that are happening during the rest of this year and those we'll be part of in 2012.
Faith Community Church is anxiously waiting for you. Please come be with us. We say a heartfelt "God Bless You."
